Someone intentionally set the fire that damaged a home on Statesville Boulevard Monday afternoon, the fire department reported.
The one-story brick house at 2377 Statesville Blvd. did not have gas or electric hooked up, and no one was living there, said Doug Stevens, assistant fire marshal with the Salisbury Fire Department.
The fire left “minimal damage,” in the living area of the house, Stevens said.
Firefighters got the blaze under control within minutes. The call came in around 12:15 p.m.
Investigators do not have a suspect in the case, but fire and police investigators are involved, Stevens said.
The house has a for sale sign in the front yard.
