The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is trying to locate a missing Salisbury teen.
The family of Crystal Peters, 15, of 6425 Lowder Road, last saw her Thursday around 11 p.m., said Sheriff’s Capt. John Sifford.
Her family noticed she was missing at 7:30 a.m. the next morning.
“Her bedroom window was open,” Sifford said. “Her suitcase and clothing were also missing.”
Investigators are checking Crystal’s computer and other leads.
They do know that she contacted a friend saying she was in Georgia where, Sifford said, she has relatives.
Her mother, Terry Call, said her family has contacted the relatives in Georgia, who said they had not seen the teen.
She said the only odd behavior she observed from Crystal was that she seemed stressed throughout the last couple of weeks.
“She actually said she was stressed,” Call said.
When she asked her daughter about why she felt stressed, Call said Crystal didn’t want to talk about it.
Crystal is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has green eyes and reddish-brown shoulder-length hair, which she usually wears in a ponytail. She has a light-brown birthmark on the right side of her neck.
Call said she doesn’t typically wear shorts.
“She usually wears blue jeans,” she said.
