Salisbury Police are investigating a late Tuesday night shooting at a Carolina Boulevard home.
The incident occurred just before 10 p.m. at 110 Carolina Blvd. where the victim, Michael Kelly, 28, said he went to his door after someone knocked.
Police reports said Kelly was punched in the face and knocked to the floor. While down, he was shot once in the chest. The bullet apparently entered his chest and exited his armpit. He was treated and released from Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Kelly said he recognized his assailants. The investigation continues.
