A Kannapolis man’s truck was stolen and then sold for scrap metal, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department.
Byron Keith Smith, 1241 Forest Park Drive, Kannapolis, reported the incident May 30.
In other Sheriff’s Department reports:
– Donny Ray Self, 25, 559 Tanner Road, Richfield, was charged May 31 with felony child abuse. He was held under $25,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.
– Margret D. Hunter, 2185 E. Ridge Road, reported May 30 that someone had removed medications from her home.
– Julie Ann Bennett reported May 30 that items were missing from rental property at 1234 Hawks Nest Road.
– Rebecca Michele Pickler, 1135 Forest Oak Drive, reported May 30 that someone took her son’s video game player.
– Christina Lynn Lloyd, 960 Poole Road, reported May 30 that someone entered her home and removed a video game player and games.
– Dennis Lee Powell, 5920 Meadow Lane, reported May 30 that items had been stolen from his building.
– Joshua Garrett Wagoner, 275 Sand Road, Rockwell, reported May 30 that someone had entered his home and removed items.
– John Owens reported May 30 that lawn equipment and gasoline had been stolen from an open garage at 250 Grants Creek Road.
– Catherine Darlene Stegall, 1011 Skyway Drive, Kannapolis, was charged May 30 with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a residence search. She was held under $9,000 bond.
Charles Ray Rice, same address, was charged May 30 with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling to keep/sell a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. He was held under $10,500 bond.
– York Brown Beaver, 2675 Statesville Blvd., reported someone entered his garage between May 25 and 29 and removed a chain saw.
– Jean Curdine Reeves, 220 Imperial Drive, reported a $200 bracelet was stolen from her home between May 21 and 28.
– Barbara Elaine Dillion of Cleveland, reported cash and credit cards were removed from her pocketbook which she had left in her car in the parking lot at Christ Episcopal Church, 3430 Old U.S. 70, Cleveland, on May 31.
– Laurence Edward Phillips, 46, 1056 Country View Drive, was charged May 31 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Kathy Smith, 1056 Country View Drive. He was held pending a bond hearing. Trial date is July 12.
– Bobby Wayne Henry, 41, was charged May 31 with being a habitual felon on a grand jury indictment. He was held pending the next term of Rowan Superior Court.
– Trent B. Hoover, 2755 Bringle Ferry Road, reported the May 31 theft of the catalytic converter off of his truck while it was parked at his home.
– James Michael Messina of Kannapolis reported a fishing rod and reels, a tackle box and bait, five horse halters and an orange bucket stolen from a building at 5825 Enochville School Road May 30 or 31. Total loss was $1,310.
– Larry Gene Tedder, 315 Renshaw Ford Road, Woodleaf, reported vandals cut three tires on his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway the night of May 30. Damage totaled $300.
– Dan D. Black of Salisbury reported items valued at $1,655 were stolen from his motor home while it was parked at 9120 Bringle Ferry Road May 30 and 31.
