The National Association of Fire Investigators recently certified two Rowan County Sheriff’s Office investigators. Detectives David Earnhardt and Sam Henline were certified as fire and explosion investigators.
Detectives Earnhardt and Henline are currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sheriff’s Office.
The National Certification Board, the certifying body of the National Association of Fire Investigators, evaluates and certifies fire and explosion investigation professionals throughout the world. It is recognized by the National Fire Protection Association’s National Fire Code. Through this program, those certified are recognized for their knowledge, training and experience and accepted for their expertise.
Earnhardt and Henline completed numerous hours of training in order to be eligible to take the national examination. Both officers successfully passed the examination and are now certified for five years.
According to a press release, Earnhardt and Henline are the only law enforcement officers currently assigned in Rowan County who have earned this certification.
