Ph.D. in counseling
Laura Everhart Welfare received a Ph.D. in counseling and counselor education May 11 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
A 1996 graduate of Salisbury High School and a 2000 summa cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University, Welfare is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. George R. Everhart III of Salisbury.
In August, she will join the faculty at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va.
