CONCORD ó A fire, started accidentally, caused heavy damage to a home at 2526 Montford Ave. N.W. Tuesday night.
Concord Fire and Life Safety units responded at 10:30 p.m. and found “heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the structure,” according to Jennifer Simpson, public information officer for the city of Concord.
The fire was considered under control at 10:47 p.m.
Though ruled accidental, the fire remains under investigation, Simpson said.
She did not elaborate on the cause or whether anyone was in the house at the time.
Damage was estimated at $50,000.
Four engines, two ladder trucks, three rescue units and a battalion chief responded to the fire, 23 personnel in all.
