A China Grove man faces multiple sexual offense charges ó including incest and the first degree rape of a child ó after an arrest made Wednesday by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators charged William Harding Gwyn, 32, of Apartment 4, 109 N. Main St., China Grove, with first degree sexual offense, crime against nature, first degree rape of a child and incest.
The offenses occurred between Jan. 1, 2002, and Dec. 31, 2006.
The victim in question is now 8 years old.
Gwyn was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $200,000 bond.
In other reports Wednesday from the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office:
– Salisbury Police charged Antone Holmes, 30, of East Cemetery Street with communicating threats Tuesday to an employee of Rowan Regional Medical Center.
He reportedly threatened physical injury to the hospital worker and was arrested Wednesday and placed under $1,000 bond.
– Salisbury Police charged Walter Minor Grimes III, 27, of Marietta, Ga., with possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine and marijuana. He was arrested with 56.6 grams of cocaine and 24.7 grams of marijuana in his possession, according to warrants.
Officer J.R. Gaither investigated. Grimes was placed under $50,000 bond.
– The Sheriff’s Office charged Kamario Emmanuel Palmer, 25, of 1320 Julius Drive, Salisbury, with possession of a firearm by a felon Wednesday. He had a .45-caliber pistol in his possession, reports said.
Palmer was convicted in 2007 of possession of a stolen firearm and sentenced to three years of supervised probation, a $500 fine and community service.
