An East Spencer couple face drug trafficking charges after authorities say they seized more than $8,000 worth of drugs and more than $3,000 in cash from their home.
During a search of the home at 320 Geroid St. on Wednesday, members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the East Spencer Police Department seized approximately 32 grams of crack cocaine (valued at $6,400), 17 grams of cocaine (valued at $1,700), one gram of marijuana (valued at $5), $3,700 in cash and a handgun, a Sheriff’s Office press release said.
Jeremy Steven Martin, who lives at the house, was present during the search. Martin’s girlfriend, Sharon Elizabeth Ervin, arrived at the house while investigators were there.
Martin, 28, is charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, possession of a firearm by felon, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $150,000 bond.
Ervin, 26, also of 320 Geroid St., was charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $125,000 secured bond.
Both are scheduled for a first appearance in court today.
