Woodcarving show in Charlotte this weekend

CHARLOTTE ó As many as 600 works from across the Southeast will be on display this Saturday and Sunday at the Charlotte Woodcarvers Showcase of Woodcarvings at Marion Diehl Recreation Center, 2219 Tyvola Road.
The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission is free.
This is a judge exhibition of woodcarvings from amateur and professional woodcarvers from several states.
Subjects include caricatures, birds of prey, chip carving, human busts, ducks and more.
Vendors will be on hand to sell wood, tools and supplies. Mini-seminars will be offered on different aspects of woodcarving.
