CHARLOTTE (AP) ó Authorities are investigating a crash between a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police cruiser and another vehicle in which a 20-year-old woman was killed and an officer and three other people were injured.
The Charlotte Observer reports the victim of the late Sunday wreck was identified by police as Shatona Robinson, who died at the scene.
Authorities say her 1991 Ford Escort was struck on the driver’s side by a patrol car driven by 24-year-old Officer Martray Proctor, who has a broken leg.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police spokeswoman Jean Wassenaar said Proctor was on the way to help another officer at a traffic stop when the wreck occurred.
Police said three other people were in the Escort and their injuries weren’t life-threatening.
