Woman charged with growing marijuana; police say man was driving stolen vehicle

A Salisbury woman was placed under $10,000 secured bond Friday after being charged with growing marijuana plants in her residence and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of manufacturing marijuana.
Maria Holshouser Biggers, 50, of 110 Rockwood Drive is scheduled for a May 18 first-appearance hearing in Rowan County District Court, according to arrest reports.
Also on Friday, a China Grove man was placed under $10,000 secured bond after being charged with driving while license revoked and possession of a stolen vehicle.
James Dyrke Johnson, 38, of 225 Arcadia Road was charged during a traffic stop, according to arrest reports. He was driving a 1996 Chevrolet that had been reported stolen by owner Charles H. Harden Sr., the reports said.
The vehicle was valued at $16,991.
