Wal-Mart is hiring approximately 680 associates to work at two new supercenters slated to open this summer in Concord and Locust.
To facilitate applications, the retailer has opened temporary hiring centers at 7140 Weddington Road, Suite 112, in Concord and 102 Stanly Parkway in Locust.
Both hiring centers will begin accepting applications Wednesday. The Concord hiring center will continue accepting applications from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
The hiring center in Locust will accept applications Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Interested applicants can stop by both hiring centers or apply online at walmartstores.com/Careers/7745.aspx.
According to store managers William Bennett and Steve Pugh, both stores will be hiring full- and part-time associates.
“We are excited to add these Wal-Mart Supercenters to North Carolina and bring good jobs with career opportunities to the area,” Bennett said. Bennett began his Wal-Mart career as a stockman in 1993 in Pennsylvania. Pugh started as a Wal-Mart co-manager in Virginia in 1995.
Pugh said associates are needed to work in all areas of both stores, including management.
Wal-Mart benefits, available to eligible full- and part-time associates, include health-care insurance with no lifetime maximum. Wal-Mart also offers a 401(k) plan and profit sharing contributions, whether an eligible associate contributes or not, store discount cards, stock purchase program and life insurance. Additionally, associates are eligible for company performance-based bonuses.
The majority of associates will begin work in June to help prepare the stores for their grand openings in the summer.
