The N.C. Department of Transportation will be shifting traffic on N.C. 24/27 east of Albemarle, in conjunction with widening the highway from east of Big Bear Creek to St. Martin Road.
Beginning Wednesday, access to Odell Drive, Canton Road, and West Main Street from N.C. 24/27 will be detoured through the end of October, in conjunction with the traffic shift.
Beginning mid-morning Thursday, westbound traffic on N.C. 24/27 will be shifted into the eastbound lanes, from west of St. Martin Road to east of Big Bear Creek. This traffic pattern will remain in effect through mid-July.
