Stoner achieves Eagle Scout award

Bryson Ray Stoner, 16, will receive his Eagle Scout award today at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
Tony Waller, Scoutmaster of Troop 333, sponsored by the church, will make the presentation.
Stoner, the son of Michael and Teresa Stoner of Bringle Ferry Road, is a junior at East Rowan High School. He has earned 53 merit badges and is patrol leader.
He has earned the Order of the Arrow, Arrow of Light and God and Country awards.
Stoner is in Future Farmers of America and the National Honor Society. He is active in St. Matthew’s LYNC, completed a 90-mile hike on the Appalachian Trail, was nominated to participate in Teens Westward Bound for this summer and participated in cross country for three years.
His Eagle Scout project was the construction of a donor building at the Miller Pond area of Dan Nicholas Park.
