MOCKSVILLE ó Officials with States Industries, which makes hardwood plywood, say the company will try to sell its Mocksville plant.
“However, if we fail to find a capable buyer within 60 days, we will move forward with permanent closure of the plant,” said Kristee Neumann human resources manager.
She said it was the intent to sell the plant as an operating business in hopes that the 73 employees could keep working.
The operation has been located in Mocksville for more than seven years.
The company sent a notice this week to the N.C. Department of Commerce of its intent to close the Mocksville plant effective March 25, if a buyer isn’t found.
