Thomas Brant Gee, found guilty of sex offenses against a 12-year-old boy, was sentenced Friday morning to a minimum of 40 years in prison.
Superior Court Judge John Holshouser sentenced the 37-year-old Gee to 240 to 297 months on each of his convictions for first-degree sexual offense against a child.
It means Gee will serve a minimum of 40 years to a maximum of 49-and-a-half years for the crimes.
On his separate conviction for taking indecent liberties with a child, Gee received a suspended sentence and three years probation, which would have to be served after his years in prison.
A jury deliberated almost three hours Thursday before returning the convictions.
The incidents occurred in mid-September 2006 at the home of the then 12-year-old victim, who was known to Gee.
