Scouting – East Rowan JROTC presents four Silver Awards at ball

Venture Crew 415 East Rowan High School Army JROTC, sponsored by Faith American Legion Post 327, presented four Silver Awards at the Military Ball on Valentine’s Day.
The Silver Award is the highest in the Venture Scouting Program. Recipients were cadet Lt. Col. Winter Heno, cadet Lt. Col. Jasmine James, cadet Lt. Col. Telecia James and Major Sabrina Lamphere.
Lamphere is the daughter of Crystal and Adam Wilcox and is a member of the scuba crew and drill team, a rappel master and lifeguard. She has been a member of the drill team and color guard since her freshman year. She hopes to attend East Carolina University to become a nurse. Jasmine James is the daughter of Marcus James and is a member of the scuba crew, a rappel master and lifeguard. She has been on the cross country and soccer teams and is a member of the National Honor Society. She hopes to attend Norwich University and study criminal justice.
Telicia James, her twin sister, is also a member of the scuba crew and a lifeguard. She has been on the cross country and soccer teams and is a member of the National Honor Society. She has been accepted to Campbell University, where she will study criminal justice.
Heno is the daughter of Joyce Yates and David Heno and is an academic senior and member of the National Honors Society. She has played varsity softball for four years and ran cross country. After graduation, she will attend basic training for the Army National Guard and then attend Watkins School of Art in Nashville. She plans to major in graphic design with a minor in photography.
