The Rowan County Board of Commissioners has approved proclamations honoring the groups. They include:
– Law Enforcement Week, May 10-16, with May 12 as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day.
– Emergency Medical Services Week, May 17-23 to recognize the value and accomplishments of emergency medical services.
– Shield-A-Badge with Prayer Awareness Month for the entire month of May, honoring the work of Chaplain Michael Taylor, who has given more than 10,000 bibles to law enforcement and emergency personnel across the state.
