Quanite Quarry man charged with seven counts of forgery

Salisbury Police arrested a Granite Quarry man Sunday and charged him with seven counts of forgery and uttering forged checks.
Charged is Matthew Dale Fisher, 25, of 105 Crook St., Granite Quarry.
The total of the seven checks forged was $3,037, and they were written in the name of the estate of Frederick B. Spencer.
Mark Spencer of Confederate Avenue is executor for the estate.
The forged checks were written for $330 on July 21, 2008; $400, July 22; $200, July 28; $500, Aug. 4; $557, Aug. 8; $500, Aug, 13; and $550, Aug. 16.
Fisher also has been charged with resisting a public officer after fleeing from Salisbury Police Officer P.S. Karriker Sunday. The officer had responded to a call about a suspicious person outside a residence.
Fisher was placed under $25,000 bond, and his first appearance in District Court is scheduled for Tuesday.
