Police seek suspect in Kannapolis robbery

KANNAPOLIS ó Authorities are looking for a man they believe robbed a Kannapolis convenience store early Monday morning.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the 2:35 a.m. robbery at Express Mart, 2720 W. C St., to contact them.
Officials are looking for William Mitchell Jones of 1328 Burke St., Kannapolis.
Authorities say Jones came into the store and demanded money. He and the store clerk argued. The clerk pulled out a baseball bat and the suspect threatened the clerk with a gun. The suspect reached over the counter and took money from the register.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury-Rowan Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245 or the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700.
