Police: Masked gunmen robbed people at Kannapolis apartment

KANNAPOLIS ó Police say two masked gunmen forced their way into an Edsel Court apartment Tuesday night and robbed seven people a gunpoint.
Capt. Pat Patty of the Kannapolis Police Department said around $1,000 in cash was taken, along with items including a valuable ring.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at 913 Edsel Court, off Plymouth Street.
A masked man entered the front door of the apartment carrying a semi-automatic handgun.
A second man, also wearing a black ski mask, entered the back door.
Victims told police the men went person by person searching the victims and taking various items, including cell phones.
The men left within minutes.
Victims said they didn’t recognize the voices or other characteristics of the robbers.
Patty said the list of items taken is extensive.
Many of the victims were apparently visiting the people who live at the apartment.
The robbers are described as follows: one white, one Hispanic, each around five-foot-eight and each weighing approximately 150 pounds. The white man wore a black hoodie shirt and camouflage pants. The Hispanic man wore a black shirt and black pants.
