Police investigating theft of tools

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of more than $2,000 worth of tools and other items from a home on Jack Brown Road.
Jacob Nathaniel Kepley of 4860 Jack Brown Road, reported the break in.
Items taken included two 3-phase large electric motors, oxygen regulators, 16-tires and rims, and various 12 -volt batteries.
Other incidents or reports from the Sheriff’s Office for Sept. 29:
– Anita Carol Morgan of Overcash Road, reported the theft of two gold rings from a home at 1495 Saw Road. The theft occurred between Aug. 13 and Sept. 29. The rings are valued at $1,200.
– Travis Dwayne Salter, 680 Stoltz Road, reported the theft of a 1999 Honda dirt bike from his residence between 6 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
– Jerry Wayne Carter, 490 Pamela St., China Grove, reported the theft of $590 worth of goods including a watch, cellphone, backpack GPS unit and radar detector from multiple vehicles at his home.
The theft occurred between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
– Travis Andrew Yost, 21, was charged with felony possession of a stolen vehicle.
– Joshua Timothy Smith, 23, was charged with felony breaking and entering.
– Mary Ann Fortenberry, 32, 245 Gallimore Road, was charged with being a fugitive from justice, a felony.
