A second person is charged with last month’s scamming of an elderly Rowan man who believed he and several other suspects were his relatives.
Frankie Lee Williams, 27, was charged Tuesday with exploitation of an elder adult or disabled.
The Salisbury Police said in February the group convinced the 85-year-old man they were related to him. They took him to a bank, withdrew money and later bought drugs. The victim’s car was found at a mobile home park.
Williams was given a $5,000 bond, an arrest warrant said.
One suspect, Wayne Morgan Coley Jr., 31, was charged in February following a 15-minute car chase.
