A new Dunkin’ Donuts store will be built next to the Walgreens drug store at 705 Jake Alexander Boulevard W., city officials said.
Grading has begun on the site near Jake Alexander’s intersection with Lincolnton Road.
The new standalone store isn’t Salisbury’s first Dunkin’ Donuts, which is known as much for its coffee as for its doughnuts. A Dunkin’ Donuts store on East Innes Street closed in 2002 after operating there since 1986.
The company’s Web site also lists a location at 3410 S. Main St., inside the WilcoHess gas station and convenience store.
