There’s a new park coming to town, and the city of Salisbury is asking the public to submit ideas as to what the city should name the park.
The park will be on 3.6 acres of land at 223 North McCoy Road, and was donated to the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department by Walter Tatum. The park’s current name, Foil-Tatum Park, is in memory of Tatum’s wife, Frances Lynne Foil.
Salisbury Parks and Recreation is giving citizens until Nov. 16 to submit name ideas for the park, and suggestions can be mailed directly to the department at P.O. Box 4053, Salisbury, and can also be given in person at the department.
The Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a park planning meeting for the new park Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Milford Hills United Methodist Church, also located on McCoy Road. The meeting is open to the public.
