Hibbett Sports, a longtime fixture at Salisbury Mall, has moved to a new location off Klumac Road.
The sporting goods store will open Saturday. It is located in a new strip development next to Kohl’s.
The mall store closed last Sunday.
“We’re excited to still be in Salisbury and on a side of town that’s growing a little faster,” said Chris Willyard, a store setter for Hibbett and former store manager in Salisbury.
Hibbett Sports had been at the Salisbury Mall since 1998, he said.
Store hours will be from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.
The new location, at 1345 Klumac Road in the Wallace Commons shopping center, is about the same size as the mall store, but it offers more display space on the walls, Willyard said.
He added the traffic generated by Kohl’s and the nearby Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse restaurants will help the new store get established.
Subway also has signed as a new tenant in the strip of spaces available next to Kohl’s.

Based in Birmingham, Ala., Hibbett Sports has 650 stores in 23 states.
