Governor to start tweeting

RALEIGH ó The office of Gov. Bev Perdue has launched a Twitter page, https://twitter.com/ncgovoffice, to help citizens find the latest news and information from inside the governor’s administration.”With only 140 characters, a little bit of Twitter can go a long way toward my goal of a transparent, accountable and interactive state gov’t,” tweeted Perdue.
As part of Perdue’s emphasis on transparency, accountability and interactivity with the people of North Carolina, she has increased the use of new media. Initiatives include NCOpenBook. gov, NCRecovery.gov and JobsNOW.nc.gov, as well as the governor’s eTownhall, featuring a blog and video Q&A.
In addition to Twitter, citizens also can follow the governor’s office on YouTube, Facebook and Flickr.
