Area Food Lion stores are playing host to a weekend golf tournament to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network.
The Children’s Miracle Network is a nonprofit organization that raises money for area children’s hospitals.
Individuals, groups and organizations partner with Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to help sick and injured kids in local communities. Food Lion is one of those local partners.
The Captain’s Choice tournament begins at 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at Corbin Hills Golf Club.
The proceeds for this tournament will support Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, said organizer Roger Freeze.
Freeze is a manager at Food Lion on Faith Road. The Food Lion store in Rockwell is also sponsoring the event.
Fees are $50 per player or $200 for four players, Freeze said.
Those who want to participate can stop by either store for an application, he said.
This is the third year for the event.
Lunch will be provided. Registration and lunch will be at 1 p.m.
There will be prizes awarded to the first, second and third teams.
