One year ago, Dr. Willard Daggett spoke to a packed crowd at Keppel Auditorium about global education and what we need to do to prepare our students for our changing world. Technology played a key role in equipping our students.
On Feb. 26, Rowan Partners for Education will host its second annual Education Summit from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Event Center on Cornerstone Campus on Webb Road.
This year’s summit will highlight the six Rowan-Salisbury School System 21st Century classroom teachers: Joy Jenkins from Cleveland Elementary, Amy Shorter from Corriher-Lipe Middle, Nancy Killian from North Rowan Elementary, Kathryn Steen from Carson High, Holly Lowder from Southeast Middle and April Williamson, teacher of the year, from China Grove Elementary. They will demonstrate how technology is used in their classrooms, which will hit upon many points Daggett addressed in 2008.
Sponsors for the summit include Food Lion, Duke Energy, the Salisbury Community Foundation, Cornerstone Church and Miller Davis Studios.
Reservations are encouraged but not required. For more information contact 704-642-0700 or LWooten@EducateRowan.org.
