Science Fair winners
Horizons Unlimited hosted the Region 6A Science Fair for students from Rowan and six surrounding counties. Students shared their investigations with judges through an interview process and a presentation of their research efforts, experimental design, results and conclusions.
Region 6A Elementary Level Gold Medal winners advancing to the state level of competition are: Daniel Engwall, Overton Elementary; Carter Love, Millbridge Elementary; Courtney Barron, Woodleaf Elementary; Erin Christner, Lydia Hartung, Shive Elementary; Micah Helms, Caleb Hall, Garrett Pell, Bostian Elementary; Jordan Osborne, Hurley Elementary.
Region 6A Elementary District Level Gold Medal winners are: Bess Bryan, Kathryn Rusher, Overton Elementary; Kayla Blackburn and Hayley King, Woodleaf Elementary; Emily Capito, Ann Fisher Lindsay, Grace Yatawara, Grace Steinman, Salisbury Academy.
Region 6A Middle School Level Gold Medal winners advancing to the state competition are: John Haile Young, Knox Middle School; Caleb Miller, Evan Rogers, Erwin Middle School; Gabe Steinman, Salisbury Academy.
The Region 6A Middle School District Level Gold Medal winner is: Savannah Morgan, West Middle School.
The Region 6A High School Gold Medal winner advancing to the state competition is Joshua Price, North Rowan High School.
The State Science Fair Competition will be held in Raleigh on March 28.
Students will present their independent research projects to science professionals from around the state and nation.
