Education: Meredith College announces grads

RALEIGH ó Four area students were among the 450 graduates receiving degrees when Meredith College held its spring commencement last month.
Sarah Parker, chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, served as commencement speaker.
A native of Charlotte, Parker attended Meredith College from 1960-62.
– April Marie Rummage of Salisbury graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree.
– Margaret Elizabeth Corl of Kannapolis received a bachelor of arts degree.
– Anna Huntley Cutler of Concord graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree.
– Nicole Elizabeth Spidel of Concord received a bachelor of science degree.
Chartered in 1891, Meredith College is a private, four-year, college for women.
Robersons on Lees-McRae dean’s list
BANNER ELK ó Brittany Roberson and Renee Roberson, both of Salisbury, were named to the dean’s list at Lees-McRae College for the spring semester.
A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required to make the list.
Lees-McRae College is a private, four-year, liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church U. S. A.
