Local student honored at St. Andrews Presbyterian College
Laurinburg ó Tommy Wilson of Salisbury was among the 140 students honored during the Annual Awards Convocation at St. Andrews Presbyterian College March 13.
Wilson, a member of the class of 2011, was on the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll as a member of the men’s cross country and track and field teams.
“Other than commencement, this coming together of the community is the most significant event in the academic life of the College,” said St. Andrews President Paul Baldasare. “It is an opportunity to honor the achievement of our students in a significant way.”
Wilson is the son of Tom and Martha Wilson.

Chandler B. Johnson of Rockwell and Michael J. Brect of Salisbury were named to the dean’s list at N.C. State University.
China Grove charactersCharacter education is an essential component of the educational program at China Grove Elementary School. This year the focus for character education will be the theme “Mr. Floyd’s Heavenly Helpers.” Each month, classroom teachers will select two students from their classes that exhibit the traits associated with the monthly character word.
