North Hills Christian School raised $4,169 for Rowan Helping Ministries thanks to the generous support of many donors and sponsors of the school’s “Empty Bowls” Soup Dinner Fundraiser.
“We are so grateful for those who sponsored our event, for the students and artists that created beautiful ceramic pottery bowls for the event, and for all of the people who attended and gave generously to this effort to help those less fortunate in our area,” said Becky Burgin, elementary art instructor at North Hills Christian School. Burgin spearheaded the Empty Bowls community service project at the school. Empty Bowls is an international project that brings potters and artisans together to raise funds for their local food banks.
“It is a community-building project that we hope grows every year,” Burgin said. Sponsors included Debbie Suggs Catering, DJs Restaurant, Cheryl Goins of Pottery 101, Valerie Hawkins, A.D. Powell, and Ramsay, Burgin, Smith Architects.
