Education briefs: Extension intern

Shelly Moore is an 11-week intern at the Rowan County Cooperative Extension office.
She is majoring in extension education and minoring in animal science at N.C. State University, where she will graduate in August.
Her responsibilities and duties include learning methods of planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs. She will work with the county staff in all program areas. Her goal is to work for Cooperative Extension.
She is the daughter of Johnny and Karen Moore, who own and operate a 110-cow dairy and grain farm in Mount Ulla.
Med school graduate
Jacob Albert Misenheimer has received his doctor of medicine degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine on May 18.
Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was the commencement speaker.
Misenheimer, the son of Jim and June Misenheimer of Salisbury, has a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Wake Forest University.
Following graduation, he will begin his residency in internal medicine in Nashville, Tenn., at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

GTCC lists
Guilford Technical Community College has recognized the accomplishments of students during the spring 2009 semester. Recognition was at three levels: president’s list, dean’s list and honors list.
The president’s list includes all program students who complete at least 12 credit hours for the semester and have a 4.0 grade point average.
The dean’s list includes all program students who complete at least 12 credit hours for the semester and have a grade point average no lower than 3.5 and no grade below a B.
The honors list includes all program students who complete at least two courses for the semester for a minimum of six credit hours but no more than 11 credit hours, and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average with no grade lower than a B.
