An East Spencer man was placed under $60,000 bond Wednesday after being charged with statutory rape.
Joseph Harris, 21, of 201 Division Ave. is scheduled for a May 7 first-appearance hearing in Yadkin County District Court, according to arrest reports. The statutory rape is alleged to have occurred on Dec. 13, 2008, in Yadkin County.
The alleged victim was 14, the report says.
