East Rowan High School graduate and New York Mets relief pitcher Bobby Parnell recorded the first hit of his major league career and earned his first save as the Mets won 9-0 against the St. Louis Cardinals this afternoon.
Parnell, who pitched the final three innings, lined a single to center in the eighth. He scored on a home run in the next at-bat.
