Salisbury will soon have an East Coast Wings & Grill franchise.
The restaurant will be located in the Innes Street Market shopping center off Faith Road.
East Coast Wings will be between Lowe’s and the Game Shop. A company spokesperson in Winston-Salem said the restaurant could be open by late March or early April.
Workers were inside the completely gutted storefront Monday.
According to a Rowan County building permit, the commercial upfitting of the 4,340-square-foot spot will cost $503,440.
East Coast Wings & Grill, founded in 1995 in a Winston-Salem shopping center, operates in North Carolina but has been taking franchise applications throughout the Southeast.
It touts 67 flavors and 460 combinations of buffalo-styled wings and sandwich plates and boasts of a secret hot sauce that has been a catalyst for the business.
East Coast Wings & Grill tries to offer a casual, full-service buffalo wing restaurant that emphasizes the food part of the menu more than pushing beer sales or a bar concept, according to the company Web site.
Other nearby locations include Bear Creek Commons in Mocksville, Shoppes at Broad Street in Statesville and two locations in Winston-Salem. A franchise also has been sold in Mooresville.
Besides wings, the restaurant menu includes appetizers, salads, wraps, ribs, shrimp, Philly sandwiches and subs, burgers, chicken, a queso corner and desserts.
