David A. Boyd, 18, son of Neal and Lori Boyd of China Grove, received his Eagle Scout award March 15 at First Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis.
John Hammond, Scoutmaster of Troop 36, sponsored by the church, made the presentation.
Boyd, a senior at South Rowan High School, has earned 25 merit badges.
For his Eagle Scout project, he refurbished the parking barriers at South Rowan. He is a lieutenant colonel in the JROTC at the high school and active on all the drill teams.
