Cooperative Extension of Rowan County will host “Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less,” a 15-week program to help people develop healthier diet and exercise habits.
The program begins Tuesday, May, 19, and continues through Aug. 25. Classes will be Tuesdays from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Rowan County Agriculture Center at 2727 Old Concord Road in Salisbury.
“Eat Smart, Move more, Weight Less” is a weight-management program and support group that uses a three-part approach to weight management: healthy diet, moving more and making lifelong behavior changes. Each lesson is designed to inform, empower and motivate participants to live mindfully as they make wiser choices about eating and physical activity.
The program provides opportunities for participants to track their progress and keep a journal of healthy eating and physical activity behaviors. Toi Degree will be the instructor. There is a $25 charge for materials, and pre-registration is required. Preregister by Friday, May 15, by calling 704-216-8970.
