COOLEEMEE ó Following a public input survey, public input workshop and four work sessions, the town of Cooleemee Strategic Plan Advisory Committee has made a recommendation that the Cooleemee Town Board of Commissioners approve a strategic plan.
Goals of the five-year plan, the town said in a news release, are to improve housing quality, facilitate economic development, reduce crime and the perception of crime, improve the overall appearance and perception of the town, improve communication between government and citizens, improve infrastructure, maintain a small-town atmosphere and build community unity.
The plan includes 23 implementation strategies in order to achieve these goals. Each implementation strategy is prioritized with an anticipated time frame, resources and responsible parties.
The town will hold a public hearing about the plan Feb. 17 at 5:30pm at Cooleemee Town Hall, 7766 N.C. 801 S. in Cooleemee.
Copies of the draft plan are available at Cooleemee Town Hall, the library in the Cooleemee Shopping Center, and on the town’s Web site at www.townofcooleemeenc.gov/.
