Miss Cabarrus County and Miss Cabarrus County’s Outstanding Teen are local qualifiers for Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.
“The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women,” Executive Director Deanna Barnhart said. “Our Miss Cabarrus County pageant gives contestants the opportunity to experience the spirit of competition and personal growth, along with giving them a sense of personal pride and accomplishment that comes with community service.”
Mallory Honeycutt, of Salisbury, is Miss Cabarrus County for 2009. Mindy Pope is Miss Cabarrus County Outstanding Teen.

Both pageant winners will be advancing to compete in Raleigh for state titles in June 2010.

The Youth Division pageant, which is a fundraiser for the program, will be held the same day and is open to youth who live in North Carolina. Information and an entry form is available on the pageant Web site, www.misscabarruscounty.com.
