Concord woman says she was kidnapped at knifepoint

CONCORD ó A woman said she was kidnapped at knifepoint Monday from Wilshire Avenue, where she was walking.
Officers of the Concord Police Department responded to report at approximately 3:30 p.m. that a woman had jumped out of a moving car on U.S. 601 near Sunderland Road in Concord.
Officers found Santa Romero Ramirez on the side of the road. Rameriz said she was walking on Wilshire Avenue when and a man pulled in front of her, got out of the car, pulled a knife on Ramirez and forced her to get into the car.
The suspect drove north on U.S. 601. Near the intersection of Sunderland Road, Ramirez jumped from the vehicle. A motorist behind the suspect vehicle stopped to help Ramirez and called 911.
The suspect was described as a heavyset white man in his 30s, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-11, with a heavy build and a thin goatee. The suspect vehicle was described as a green Ford Thunderbird, 1990s model. The suspect vehicle was last seen heading north on U.S. 601 toward Cabarrus Avenue.
