Clarification
The Salisbury Historic Preservation Commission voted Thursday against some exterior changes to the proposed children’s theater on East Fisher Street.
A headline in Friday’s edition said “Historic Salisbury” voted 3-2 against the proposal, and some readers apparently confused the commission with the nonprofit Historic Salisbury Foundation.
The two entities are not the same. The Historic Preservation Commission is a city board, whose members are appointed by Salisbury City Council.
Historic Salisbury Foundation works privately to preserve, protect and enhance the historic character of Salisbury and Rowan County through education, neighborhood revitalization and the preservation of local landmarks.
