City accepts street to serve Sacred Heart
The city of Salisbury has accepted the street that will serve the new Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School as a city street.
The new street has been named Lumen Christi Lane.
It extends 1,074 feet from Jake Alexander Boulevard to a cul-de-sac.
The street qualifies for Powell Bill funds, which the city uses for maintenance, in July 2010 and will remain under warranty by the developer until then.
Salisbury City Council accepted the street into the city system Tuesday. Sacred Heart is trying to have the school facility ready for occupancy by Aug. 1. The new church is expected to be finished later this year.
