Churchland resident hired for fiber-optic jobThe city of Salisbury has hired a Churchland resident as service delivery manager for its new fiber-optic cable utility.
Barry King previously worked for Lexcom in Lexington for 12 years. Prior to that, he was employed a dozen years in the cable industry, first for Summit Cable, then for Time Warner.
“Customer service, of course, means everything,” King told Salisbury City Council Tuesday.
He will be responsible for outside-the-plant operations from the head-end facility to homes and businesses.
Salisbury hopes to be offering telephone, television and Internet services by June 2010.
