Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide will offer a free Chick-fil-A sandwich to any customer wearing any sports-related apparel on Labor Day, Sept. 7.
The company is celebrating the second annual Chick-fil-A Kickoff football game.
The game, pitting the University of Alabama against Virginia Tech, will be held 8 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and will be televised nationally on ABC.
The following Monday, participating restaurants will offer free Chick-fil-A sandwiches to those wearing sports attire ó any article of clothing with a sports team logo, from a Little League uniform to a favoritie professional or collegiate jersey, hat, t-shirt, socks or other accessory.
Chick-fil-A has developed an online campaign to promote the sandwich giveaway starting Aug. 24, www.ChickenWave.com. It will offer coupons and hold drawings.
Last year, the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game between Clemson and Alabama delivered a sold-out Georgia Dome. Each university received a $50,000 academic scholarship.
The Atlanta-based company has also been the title sponsor of the Chick-fil-A Bowl (formerly the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl) since 1997.
