Senior Services in Rowan and Cabarrus counties are still offering to help people make the switch to digital TV.
Even though the switch was completed June 12, some households with analog televisions have not installed a TV converter box, leaving them in the dark, according to the federal government.
To apply for a coupon for a TV converter box or to file an appeal, citizens must submit an application by midnight Friday.
Residents in Rowan who need a converter box can get help from Rowan County Seniors Services, located in the Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, 1120-A S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. For information, call Sammie Ervin at Rowan Senior Services at 704-216-7700.
Residents in Cabarrus who need a converter box can stop by the Cabarrus County Senior Center at 331 Corban Ave. in Concord for assistance with the online application. For information, contact Joan Swaringen at the Cabarrus County Senior Center at 704-920-3484.
Applications for coupons are accepted online at www.DTV2009.gov, by phone at 1-888-388-2009 (1-888-DTV-2009), by mail and by fax. Mailed applications must be post-marked no later than midnight, July 31.
