Accidental shooting injures two in Kannapolis

KANNAPOLIS ó An accidental shotgun blast injured two at Furman Court early this morning, according to Kannapolis Police.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office got the initial call at 1:58 a.m. The site, 1726, is in the city limits, so Kannapolis Police responded.
Officers found two men with wounds that appeared to be from shotgun pellets ó Desmond Djuan Boyd, 21, of Salem Street, Concord, and Tarry Krider Sr., 32, of Chestnut Drive, Concord.
“The investigation revealed that the two individuals were hit when the shotgun discharged,” a Kannapolis Police press release said. “Based on the information gathered from the scene and the statements obtained from the victims it appears that this was an accidental discharge. The shotgun had been removed from the scene prior to the officers’ arrival.”
Boyd and Krider were treated at CMC-NorthEast for minor injuries and released. No charges are anticipated, police said.
