Corriher-Lipe Middle School in Landis hosted the 2009 All-County Middle School Chorus on Friday with 80 students participating.
Each spring, the chorus teachers of all seven Rowan-Salisbury Schools middle schools select students to attend the all-day event. The instructors teach the repertoire to their students, who then spend the day of the event refining the performance under the guidance of a guest clinician. After the day of rehearsal, the students present a public performance in the evening.
This year’s clinician was Dave Dobbins, choral director at Southeast Guilford Middle School.
Middle school chorus teachers are: Monica Otten, Southeast; Pat King, West; Sharon Wooten, Corriher-Lipe; Martha Lassiter, Knox; Elizabeth Cook, Erwin; Steve Freeman, North; and Becky Morris, China Grove. Morris also served as accompanist for the event.
